Youâve just completed a great project with a brilliant colleague and want to recognize their contribution â thatâs exactly what Feedback for Recognition is for! However, if you canât find your colleague when searching for their name in the Social Recognition section of your companyâs Workhuman platform, donât worry â this can usually be resolved quickly.
Below are a few self-service checks and potential fixes before reaching out for additional support.
Step 1: Check the Spelling of the Name
Make sure youâve entered your colleagueâs first and last name correctly. Even a small typo can prevent them from appearing in the search results.
Try searching with just the first name or a partial name (e.g., âSamâ instead of âSamanthaâ).
Avoid using email addresses â the search only matches employee names.
Step 2: Confirm Your Colleagueâs Eligibility for Recognition
Not all users may be eligible to receive recognition. This can happen if:
Theyâre a new hire and their profile hasnât yet synced to the platform.
They belong to a different region, subsidiary, or recognition program not currently visible to your group.
If you suspect this might be the case, you can check with your colleagueâs manager or People Team to confirm their participation in the recognition program.
Step 3: Try Accessing from a Different Device or Browser
Sometimes a temporary browser or cache issue can affect search results.
Try using a different browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.).
Clear your cache and cookies, then refresh the page.
If youâre using a company network, you may also want to try logging in via incognito/private mode.
Step 4: Ensure Youâre in the Correct Recognition Module
If your company has multiple recognition programs (for example, âSocial Recognitionâ and âPerformance Feedbackâ), double-check that youâre in the Feedback for Recognition section â not another feedback or awards area.
Still Canât Find Your Colleague?
If youâve tried the steps above and your colleague still doesnât appear, itâs possible that:
Their Workhuman profile isnât fully active or synced.
Thereâs a technical issue preventing their name from showing.
